About the course

The Australian Society for Technical Communication Incorporated is offering a two-day workshop in technical writing and documentation in Sydney. This is an excellent introduction for editors wanting to expand their skills to cover technical communication.

This workshop covers essential writing skills and documentation practices – ideal for those wanting to move into technical writing and editing, or as a refresher course for technical communicators.

The final date for registrations is 22 July.

This two-day interactive course by Jill Nicholson is based on recognising and fixing the most common writing problems in technical writing, and analysing the documentation process. The aim of the
course is to help you make your writing succinct and effective. Your documents will be readable and usable with no confusion, ambiguity, or a need for the reader to reread for sense.

Course topics are illustrated with real examples and interactive exercises.

With the course you get a substantial manual with full text for all topics, enabling the manual to be used later as a reference. The manual contains several extremely valuable appendices containing
words and phrases to avoid, words commonly confused or misused, and much more.

There is time to discuss specific problems related to the work of attendees, as well as the generic examples provided.
Register for one or both days of this workshop now at http://tiny.cc/pyiacy.
