Krista offers copyediting, substantive editing and proofreading at IPEd-recommended rates (and student rates). She has edited a wide range of subject matter, from supporting vibrant storytelling and reporting for annual reports, to ensuring clarity and conciseness in robust academic writing. As a writer, she can also bring a supportive and discerning eye to creative works. Her broad experience spans editing content for both print and web.
Krista’s academic editing experience includes research translation for broad audiences as well as quality assurance of educational content. She has significant experience in academic integrity and regularly copyedits academic theses and journal articles, particularly in the social, political and environmental sciences, management, human resources and the arts. She follows IPEd’s guidelines for editing research theses, and is familiar with a range of university-based style manuals and standard referencing formats. Originally from the USA, Krista has lived in Australia for over 25 years and can edit works for consistency and cohesiveness in both Australian and American English conventions.
She has experience writing for government (reports/briefs/websites), employing both the Australian Style manual and the Australian Editing Handbook, as well any department-specific style guides.
Krista is also a published poet and songwriter/recording artist. She has been a beta reader for several works of fiction and non-fiction, and can offer valuable feedback on creative works.
