Will the Oxford English Dictionary be printed again?

Reports that the third edition of the comprehensive Oxford English Dictionary may not be printed may be premature.

Media from across the English-speaking world raised the alarm when a representative from Oxford University Press would not commit to printing the next edition. Since then, the publisher has released a statement saying that the question is only of format and not the organisation’s commitment to its dictionary. In fact, the third edition is perhaps a decade away from publication, and a decision about format will be made closer to the time.
