An accreditation exam too far away? No!

Ferguson Room, upstairs at the National Library of Australia, Parkes Place
Light refreshments before and after; all welcome

It’s time to check that you know what you need to know to prepare for the next IPEd accreditation exam.

This evening session is designed to help you navigate through the sometimes confusing mass of documentation you need to understand, or at least to know where to find infomation in a hurry. It will be based on a flowchart prepared by Elizabeth and a colleague Dr Justine McNamara AE and incorporated in Elizabeth’s website at www.emmwords.info

It will set out some guidance to reading the current edition of Style manual, the Australian standards of editing practice (the Standards), practice exam papers and other useful material. It will get you started on collecting information on topics not covered in the Style manual but recommended reading for this open-book exam.

We will go through the flowchart that sets out a useful timeline and you will take away a handout with a link to that page so that you can note the recommended reading and other study guidance.

Finally, we will recommend that you join a study group because preparing in like-minded company is much more satisfactory and stimulating than studying on your own.

Cathy Nicoll AE and  Elizabeth Manning Murphy DE  have been involved in helping candidates prepare for the IPEd Accreditation Exam since its inception in 2008.  They want to share their long experience of this exam with you and will be happy to answer questions about study planning, workshops, admin matters and reading material during this session. By the end of the session, you should be able to say ‘I know where to find stuff even if I don’t know all my stuff yet.’
