New date for the postponed accreditation exam to be announced soon

Linda Nix, Chair of the IPEd Accreditation Board, has informed IPEd members and CSE that the accreditation exam is very close to being rescheduled.

She writes:

As travel and gathering restrictions have started to ease across Australia and New Zealand, we have started the process of rescheduling the accreditation exam to take place in October or possibly November 2020. We are in discussions with the venues about feasible date options and about implementing hygiene measures (e.g. providing hand sanitiser) and physical distancing measures. In larger venues such as Sydney and Melbourne, the exam is likely to be held in more than one room to maintain space between desks. As soon as we have finalised the new date, we will re-open registrations.

If you were planning to sit the exam this year, you should resume your preparation. The IPEd website has more information about the exam itselfexam fees and registration, and exam resources, including the exam-related webinars, the Guide for candidates and sample exams. Separate notices will be sent about re-scheduled exam preparation workshops in person and online.

For those unsure about what accreditation is and those who missed our free, open forum in March, you can read the transcript (including the open question and answer session) on how the accreditation scheme is managed and funded, why we have an exam and what it tests.

And of course if you have any queries or concerns, you can contact your branch delegate or me as chair.

Stay safe.
Linda Nix AE
Chair, IPEd Accreditation Board
