Editing fiction: the good, the bad and the ugly

Ferguson Room, upstairs at the National Library of Australia, Parkes Place
Light refreshments before and after; all welcome

Ever thought that editing some fiction might make a refreshing change from government and corporate documents?

Kaaren Sutcliffe,Craig Cormick and Sophie Mannix will give us some insights into what’s the same and what’s different when tackling works of fiction, including the good, the bad and the ugly. Kaaren and Craig are both published authors, experienced manuscript assessors and editors of fiction (among other things). Sophie is the Communications and Marketing Officer at the ACT Writers Centre and has long experience in connecting the centre’s author members with manuscript assessors and editors. She may share some insights into author expectations of their editors. The three panelists will pose challenging questions to each other about the process and their experiences, before inviting members to bombard them with other questions.
