Accreditation: is it right for you right now?

Wednesday 29 July 2020, 6:30pm, Zoom webinar (for details, see below).

With apologies from the CSE committee, we have been forced to cancel the in-person element of this event.

The webinar will still be going ahead with Malini’s excellent presentation, and we will make the Q&A element as interactive and ‘live’ as possible.

We are thrilled to have Dr Malini Devadas back on Wednesday, 29 July to present our introduction to accreditation. We want to encourage members (and guests) to think about their future professional development, what study or training they might do in the future and whether accreditation – now – is right for you. If it is, how should you go about preparing for the exam? Malini will also speak more broadly about making a commitment to studying, how to approach a test like this, how to handle failure – first try is not always the last try – and what success might bring.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation using Zoom’s Q&A function.

Attending the webinar

You do not need to register to attend the webinar. A link has been sent to all members. If you do not have the link, please contact the Secretary via the Contact us link on this site (select Secretary in the drop-down).

The webinar will not be recorded.

Update your Zoom app ahead of time

Zoom has recently released a significantly upgraded version of their application. You will need version 5.0 or higher to attend the webinar.

To check your version: sign into the desktop app > click on your profile picture or initials > select ‘Help’ from the dropdown menu > select ‘About Zoom’ from the menu that appears at the side. A window will appear showing your version number.

To update your version: sign into the desktop app > click on your profile picture or initials > select ‘Check for updates’ from the dropdown menu. A window will appear, ‘Checking for updates’, then ‘Updates available!’ (yes, with an exclamation mark). The update will download in a few seconds – an ‘Update’ button will appear when it is ready. Click the button – the update will take another few seconds to install.

Success!
