2018 Annual General Meeting and Christmas dinner

6.00–7.30pm, Wednesday 28 November 2018
The Drawing Room, University House, ANU

The Annual General Meeting is the most important general meeting of the CSE year, and this year the accompanying networking dinner immediately after is also the Christmas dinner, so it should be an especially enjoyable evening.

For dinner, the Society will shout some wine and soft drinks for the tables, and then the bar will be open to buy drinks of your own choosing. The cost is $40 for members, $60 for non-members. You can book for dinner by 25 November (this link goes to Try Booking).

We hope to see you there – old and new members alike.

About the AGM

All CSE members are welcome to attend the AGM. The CSE constitution requires a quorum of 20 full (currently fincancial) members for the business of the meeting to be transacted. Members may attend the AGM without attending the dinner.

Election of committee
This is an interesting time to be on the CSE committee, guiding and managing the Society’s future in the new representative environment for the editing profession while maintaining and improving the services that CSE members have come to expect and enjoy.

Please do think about nominating for a position, especially if there is something new or different that you would like to see from the Society. We welcome your new ideas and fresh perspectives, and the Society and Canberra’s editing profession can only benefit from what you have to offer.

For new members, joining the Committee is an excellent way to become known and grow your professional network quickly, and gain some inside knowledge of the profession. And there’s lots of help. You won’t regret putting your hand up!

By the same token, if you don’t put your hand up, you will not be shamed or co-opted! We would simply like you to be there at the AGM, and hopefully to stay on for dinner. You will be made welcome, whether this is your first year or your twentieth!

All committee positions become vacant at the AGM. Listed below are the current committee positions, although the new committee may change them. All CSE members may nominate for any position except the first four (in bold), which can be filled by Full Members only.
