Monthly meetings for everyone
We meet once a month to catch up with other editors. We usually start with drinks and a light snack at about 6pm. The formal part of the meeting starts around 6:30. Members have the opportunity to ask questions about editing, or to raise other issues. By about 7pm we’ve usually settled in to listen to the guest speaker. You can find a list of topics here.
We offer a range of training courses in response to members’ requests. You can find some of our past courses here.
These informal events are usually held at lunchtime or breakfast. Although they started as a way for editors who can’t attend the evening meetings to catch up, you’ll find most Canberra editors have dropped in from time to time. These are available to members only, and we advertise them by email.
The opportunity to be mentored by an experienced member is available to all members of the Canberra Society of Editors. (Members of other societies should contact their societies for details.) Suitably experienced Canberra Editors can also apply to be mentors.
