Specific projects
Specific projects with social and health scientists at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) Australian National University (ANU) include co-editing a technical report submitted to the World Health Organisation, ‘Environment, Agriculture and Infectious Diseases of Poverty’. NCEPH research in health/sociology includes food, analysis of intergeneration health equity concerning climate change in Australia and ballroom dancing for the over-seventies.
For the ANU School of Medicine, I designed and helped create a new medical students’ journal and copy-edited submissions.
I worked with a Thai academic on a case study on food choices and children’s eating behaviour and a book about Thai food culture and history. I have been Editor of BODHI Times since 1991 and President of Benevolent Organisation for Development, Health & Insight (BODHI)(www.bodhi.net.au) since 1989. I’ve developed and maintain two websites, written 4 long works of fiction, 3 local history booklets and 2 cookbooks.
I offer a background in both local and international development organisations in the community sector and strong literacy skills. I am a published fiction and non-fiction author and a lifelong lover of the written word.
