CLOSED: Editor wanted at DAFF

We keep notices for closed positions on our website because people oftern ask us about the types of jobs an editor might have. This is one way of helping to answer that type of question.

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is looking for a professional, experienced publications editor to join their editorial team for 12 months. This is a full-time EL1 position, available from 21 March 2011.

You must be able to work collaboratively with other editors and to establish and maintain strong working relationships with authors, production staff and senior officers. You must also be well-organised, experienced at working with publications schedules and able to meet strict deadlines. Ability to apply the departmental style guide, which is based on the Commonwealth style manual, is also essential.

Knowledge of the subject matter (economic and scientific) is not necessary but you must be able to quickly develop a familiarity with it.

Selection will be made on the basis of CV, informal interview and work test.
