Finding clients during uncertain times

Dr Malini Devadas will give a webinar presentation addressing working as an editor in a shaken economy.

Malini is a business coach for editors through her business, Edit Boost. She is a committed champion for the value of editors and the editing profession with a focus on building editors’ confidence and capacity to back themselves, find more clients, and raise their rates. In addition to Edit Boost, she also runs a successful editing and writing coaching business, has worked as a professional editor since 2004, and has a PhD in neuroscience.

As people become more worried about the economic impact of COVID-19, a lot of self-employed editors are concerned about whether they will be able to find enough work in the coming months. In this presentation, business coach Dr Malini Devadas will talk about things you need to consider when looking for clients right now, including:

• why discounting your prices is not the best strategy
• why self-confidence is critical and how you can build it
• the three different markets available to you
• a simple formula you can use to create a marketing plan
• other services you can offer using your existing skills.
